The Preble County Historical Society acquires, protects, and maintains for the enjoyment and edification of the current and future generations buildings, structures, objects, sites, or entire districts that have historical, archeological, conservation & environmental projects, hiking trails or cultural significance.

Three floors of handicapped-accessible exhibits at the Brantley Carriage House Museum, the authentically restored Victorian Town House, and the historically significant Galloway Log House tell the Greene County story from prehistoric hunters to Tecumseh to Norman Vincent Peale.

Provides daily and long range planning for the City of Medina. Coordinates with, organizes and provides planning committees for historic preservation and urban planning in the city including city operations and building. Provides and enforces zoning codes.

We offer site visits, color consults, construction advice, and best practices. You must reside in a participating community to be eligible for free technical assistance. Richland County is a participating community. The Heritage Home Program is not affiliated with any contractor or company and does not sell products. Those seeking advice can rely on an expert opinion that is impartial, knowledgeable, and experienced in the field. Manages the city’s outstanding historic districts and resources. Includes the Historic Preservation Office, which is charged with managing building activity in the city's 18 historic districts and 59 individually listed properties. Provides technical assistance to property owners and potential buyers who would like to purchase historic properties.
Safeguards the heritage of the City of Mansfield by preserving areas, places, sites, buildings, structures, objects and works of art which reflect elements of the City's cultural, social, economic, political, architectural or archaeological heritage.
Provides an application process for buildings to be placed on the National Register Listing of Historic Places. Once on the list, may be able to receive tax credits and apply for grants for things like repairs and improvements.
Encourages and promotes the preservation, maintenance, restoration and adaptive reuse of buildings, sites and neighborhoods that are of historic or architectural importance in Akron and Summit County.
Provides free consultation and technical expertise to homeowners on a variety of repair, renovation and maintenance projects that also respect the architectural character of older homes in our community.
