MHAO offers educational opportunities to mental healthcare professionals, and provides a variety of workshops including Mental Health First Aid and Suicide Prevention Trainings. Pending availability, educational programs are available to Delaware County residents if they work in Franklin County. DCRC provides vocational support services in a variety of ways. For those enrolled in OOD, DCRC can provide skills training to help get a job or a better job. Consumers can learn how to write an effective resume, fill out applications, and practice interview skills. DCRC will advocate for support services and teach consumers to advocate for their needs. Once the consumer has a job, DCRC can provide on-the-job support through the training and orientation period. DCRC also has general educational workshops related to vocational development open to all.

Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Training is a nationally recognized program that teaches law enforcement safe and effective approaches to handling crisis incidents involving an individual living with mental illness. The intensive 4-day training is conducted under the instructional supervision of local CIT-trained police officers, mental health professionals, consumers, and family advocates and will offer practical techniques for de-escalating crisis situations. Companion Courses use some of the CIT Academy curriculum adapted for Dispatchers, Courts and Jail Personnel, Behavioral Health Professionals, and others.

Recognizes volunteers via ServeOhio Awards which honors high-impact service in local Ohio communities. Also convenes Ohio volunteer administration professionals in high-quality professional development at our annual Ohio Conference on Service and Volunteerism and through targeted dialogue on improving volunteer infrastructure.
