Program assists children and their families with problems like attention-deficit, anger management, oppositional behaviors, depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss and conflict resolution. Case management services can be added when needed.

Length of time required to lease before buying varies based on how long this agency has owned the home. It may be up to 15 years. Lease-purchasers are required to handle routine home maintenance.

Provides success coaching, financial coaching, and peer mentoring to support continued employment for individuals who experience a reduction in public assistance due to increase of income. Offers work supports such as job clothing/tools, help with transportation, and may assist with emergencies regarding child care issues and housing. Requires a time commitment of approximately our (4) hours per month and provides up to $7,000 in cash incentives for achieving mandatory and optional goals.

Offers (2) three-hour sessions of financial fitness workshops to improve your money management skills. Topics covered include: Budgeting, Financial Planning, Savings, Banking, Credit, Taxes and Insurance. Classes are available at the Homeport Housing Advisory Center or online and recommeded for:

• First-time homebuyers with a credit score of less than 640 and/or any one of the following situations:
• Needs assistance with creating a spending plan/ budget
• Low credit score or unaware of credit score,
• Limited savings,
• Less than 18 months of steady income,
• Bankruptcy not yet discharged/dismissed or its only been 1-2 years since it’s been discharged/dismissed.

Partnering with Summit County Job and Family Services to provide one-on-one case management assistance with cash, food, or medical assistance/benefits. Case managers can assist with turning in documents, applying or re-applying for assistance, reporting case changes, and other case/eligibility questions.

• At Helen Arnold, a child care case manager will also be on site to apply for or renew child care services, answer case or eligibility questions, scan documents and verifications, and more.

Provides monthly cash benefits to the spouse, divorced spouse, child or dependent parent of a eligible worker who died. Benefits are typically 75-100% of the worker's benefit. Some beneficiaries may also qualify for one-time payment after death.

Provides reading, writing, math, job skills, GED prep, social studies and science instruction to low-literate adults or hearing-impaired/deaf adults. Utilizes small group classes, one-to-one tutoring and computer-assisted instruction.

Provides repair and maintenance of village streets, signs, and traffic lighting. Takes reports of damages related to streets and makes necessary repairs.

Offers home and facility repairs for lead-based paint mitigation. Eligible repairs include window and door replacement; siding, soffit, and fascia enclosure; porch component repair, other items.

Provides a community-based prevention model that offers services to families and children who may be experiencing risk factors. Offers connection to community resources, family coaching, parenting tips, budgeting and money management, and financial assistance, when needed. From one-time consultations to intensive home visiting services, families can select the frequency and duration of services that will best meet their unique needs and help them to achieve their goals.

UW 211 Greater Toledo

Accepts donations of used furniture, clothing, and other household items which are resold in Family Stores. Offers pickup and drop off donations.
