The winter months can cause hardships for babies who do not have cold weather clothing. Babies are at risk when loose blankets are placed inside the crib for warmth. They can burrow into comforters and blankets which can cause suffocation or which can deprive them of fresh air - a suspected cause of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Babies should have sleepers or sleep sacks to keep them warm throughout the winter months. Our chapter is asking groups and individuals to come together as a community and collect new sleepers during the month of September.
