COVID-19 Temporary Message: Country Neighbor will temporarily suspend the congregate meal service in our dining rooms and programming activities in both Andover and Orwell effective Monday, March 16, 2020 through Friday, April 3, 2020 due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic. The offices will remain open for other services. Country Neighbor meal site attendees are being notified of the suspension and will be offered the opportunity of receiving home delivered meals during this period. All Country Neighbor staff will continue to take health and safety precautions including sanitizing and disinfecting vehicle services, washing and sanitizing hands and other measures to reduce risk of disease transmission. Provides a personal advocate for each youth who spends an average of 15 hours per week assisting the youth in educational, vocational employment and/or recreational programs; offers a positive adult role model. This program's services are offered for youth in their own homes as well as youth placed in agency's foster homes.

Offers a free to-go meal to older adults residing in Medina County.

To build self-esteem through a one or two week camping session. Children are referred by area professionals who have identified them as needing social and/or emotional development. Younger children stay at main camp which is fairly traditional in its facilities and activities: i.e. swimming, art and crafts, and nature. Older campers go to our outpost site where they live in tents, cook their own food, and practice primitive wilderness skills.

Provides services to assist with the transitioning out of nursing facilities.

Offers a venue for meetings with representatives from the Medina County Senior and Adult Services office. Scheduled meetings can discuss benefits and services available to older adults and individuals with disabilities.

Operates a centralized telephone switchboard staffed by trained personnel who assess requests for emergency assistance and dispatches the appropriate emergency response agency.

Offers day camp activities including nature-based, relationship-based and self-confidence building programs.

Recruits, screens, trains, and supervises volunteers to be appointed as guardian ad litem by Juvenile Court for abused, neglected, and dependent children.

Provides county Sheriff's Office services.

Keeps copies of DD-214 discharge papers and NGB form 22 (for Army National Guard or Air National Guard) on file for veterans and issues a wallet-sized card with photo proving they have honorable or "other than dishonorable" discharge papers filed with the county. Card can be used for veterans' services and for services that are discounted for veterans.

Mediation to help settle disputes dealing with discrimination may be offered to those who have filed a complaint.

Offers 24 hour response to hospital, police, and personal request for assistance in cases of felony crime with specialized services for sexual assault and child sexual abuse victims and homicide survivors. Provides short term crisis counseling for crime victims and witnesses regardless of intent to pursue criminal prosecution; personal advocacy and court escort during all stages of the police investigation and criminal justice process; case status notification for felony level prosecution pending in Greene County Common Pleas Court and Greene County Juvenile Court. Confidential referrals within a large resource network, to any appropriate medical, counseling, or social service agency. Also provides assistance to persons applying for financial reimbursement through the Ohio Victims of Crime Compensation Program.
