Special needs students served by the programs of the Knox ESC are enrolled in classrooms at Mount Vernon High School, Mount Vernon Middle School, and at the Knox Learning Center. The Knox Learning Center also includes classrooms for middle school and high school students in need of credit recovery. Credit recovery students complete online courses under the supervision of Learning Center staff and volunteers. Both special education and credit recovery students have access to a complete range of educational services, and can complete all coursework required for graduation at the Knox Learning Center. Academic, social, and emotional support for students at the Learning Center is provided by social workers, parent mentors, classroom aides, and teachers employed by the Knox Educational Service Center.

A monthly premium for Part B is deducted from the monthly benefit check, unless low income qualifies the person to Qualified Medicare Beneficiary or Specified Low-Income Medicare Beneficiary aid. -$600 credit for prescription assistance, in the form of a debit card, is available to income-eligible persons with Medicare Part A and/or B who don't have other outpatient prescription drug coverage. -Medicare informational handbook available. -24-hour helpline for information on health plans, prescription drug programs, nursing homes, and Medicare physician referral.

Locks of Love provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children 21 years and younger suffering from long-term medical hair loss. They meet a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no know cause or cure. The prostheses provide help to restore self-esteem and confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers.
