Services include: a personal care plan to meet the individual's needs at home by arranging an appropriate mix of services to supplement care provided by family members and friends. Eligible services include adaptive and assistive equipment, assistance in the home with health activities, such as taking medications appropriately and other health-related activities, with case/care management, adult day care, chore service, home medical equipment and supplies, emergency response systems, home-delivered meals, homemaker services, independent living assistance, minor home modifications, nutrition consultation, personal care services, medical and non-medical transportation. Program also administers the Pre-Admission Review process that determines the level of care for persons who want to enter Medicaid-certified nursing homes and periodically offers vendors training on dealing with elderly/disabled individuals.

The JOSHUA program is a work missions project established for youth and adults from various parts of the country to help make a difference in the living conditions of low income residents of the Ohio Valley. Services include, but are not limited to: painting, building of handicap ramps, replacing of windows, and yard clean up. Home repair projects are matched up with the skills of the work mission groups and most projects can be completed within one (1) week in the summer.

The Habitat Critical Home Repair program helps low-income homeowners by providing affordable loans to help repair critical issues in or around their home. Through the program homeowners' partner with Habitat for Humanity and our volunteers. This work improves quality of life and preserves the housing stock in Southeastern Ohio. Note: This is not a free program. The Home Repair program addresses health and safety concerns in several areas of the home as well as in the community. Projects have a financial cap of $5,000. They include, but are not limited to: - Unsafe Roofing - Sidewalk Issues - Plumbing Issues - Roof/Deck Repairs - Accessibility - Hazards inside and outside the home.

USS provides simple and handicap accessible home modifications to ensure older homeowners can continue to live safety in their home. Simple tasks include changing ceiling light bulbs and installing grab bars. More complex projects include handicap accessibility such as raised toilets, showers, and ramps. This is not a complete list of eligible projects. USS also provides seasonal grass mowing for eligible older homeowners who need assistance to maintain their property.

Provides a general home safety inspection. Reviews other safety measures the homeowner may be able to complete on their own. Based on the results of the inspection, volunteers may do the following: - Install handrails. - Install or repair steps. - Install CO2 or smoke detectors. - Install grab bars and other safety equipment. - Enhance lighting. - Check the furnace filter. - Repair broken windows (boarding up window or minor repairs). - Reviews other safety measures the homeowner may be able to complete on their own.

For persons who need a ramp constructed for entry into a house are invited to call our Ramp Ministry men. Arrangements can be made through the church office to assess the need and design a solution. Provides assistance to improve and provide affordable housing for low- and moderate-income residents by assisting with home rehabilitation and repairs to improve resident's health and safety as well as home buying. Funds are limited by availability. *Repairs and renovations may include repair or replacement of defective furnaces, severely leaking roofs, water infiltration, gas line breaks, septic system issues, structural problems caused by collapse of a roof, porch or foundation and repairing damage caused by fire or wind. Other maintenance issues that cause health and/or safety problems for occupants may also qualify as a home repair. *Funds may be available for down-payment assistance combined with home rehabilitation.
