Housing Authorities | Hancock Metropolitan Housing Authority

HMHA’s Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program allows low-income families to rent quality housing in the private market via federal funds provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Through the HCV Program, HMHA pays a portion of eligible families’ rent each month. These payments are made directly to the property owner/manager. Participating families can use their vouchers to rent a house or apartment from private property owners throughout Hancock, Hardin, Wyandot or Putnam counties.

Make sure all questions and sections are completed and anything that does not apply to you is marked “N/A”. Incomplete applications will be returned and not placed on the waiting list. The application is in PDF format. You must have Adobe Acrobat installed on your computer in order for the application to print properly. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat, go to the Adobe website to download and install it. This is a free download. Read instructions completely. After submitting the application to MMHA, a letter with your application number will be sent to you. MAKE SURE YOU SAVE THIS LETTER! You will need your 4 digit application number to update or make changes to your application while you are on the waiting list. YOU MUST CALL ONCE EVERY SIX MONTHS TO UPDATE YOUR APPLICATION! This is very important because if you do not call to let us know you still want to be on the waiting list, you will be removed after 12 months.

Housing Choice Voucher (SECTION 8) Rental Assistance | Tuscarawas Metropolitan Housing Authority

The subsidy moves with participants and it can be used in any unit in the private market which passes a Tuscarawas Metropolitan Housing Authority (TMHA) inspection, as long as participants remain eligible and the landlord agrees to participate in the program.
