Provides crime victim notification services.

Provides stabilization support, trauma counseling, and assistance with any other immediate needs to secure their safety, such as emergency housing, transportation, and legal services to those who have experience a serious violent crime (e.g. rape, sexual assault, and robbery). An advocate will also help victims apply for victim compensation and will, if needed, arrange for victims to receive more specialized assistance, such as substance abuse treatment, sexual assault or domestic violence services, legal advocacy, or other community supports.

Provides support to both victims and witnesses of crimes.

Provides legal services during the criminal justice process when a victims' constitutional or statutory rights are being violated. Assists with victim compensation claims, safety plans, and education to crime victims about their rights.

Provides victims of felony crimes and their families free access and knowledge of the proceedings of justice, as well as support in order that they may be empowered to assert their rights. May be able to assist with the following: testifying in court; providing information on victim rights; providing referrals to counseling and support groups within the community; being a liaison between the prosecutor, law enforcement and other agencies; attending court hearings; providing a safe waiting area free from threats and intimidation; assisting with court preparation; providing assistance in filing compensation applications; assisting with restitution; assisting with emergency services and referrals; assisting in writing victim impact statements; helping with transportation to court; referrals for safe housing; assistance with returning property that is being held as evidence; assistance with registering with the VINE program; assistance with registering with the Office of Victim Services for an offender's release; and assistance with registering with the Ohio Department of Youth Services for a juvenile's release.

Provides support, assistance and legal education to survivors of rape, sexual assault or sexual abuse when survivors choose to prosecute the offenders. Explains the legal aspects of rape and assault (but does not give legal advice), facilitates communication between client and other parties such as police and the courts, helps clients write Victim Impact Statements, and assists with dealing with the Ohio Parole Board. Helps clients access programs for victims of crimes in the State of Ohio and makes referrals to lawyers. Adena's Victim Services include the following: Adult and Pediatric Forensic Evidence Kit Collection; Forensic Photography; Information and Referrals; Emergency Medical / Forensic Exam; Accompaniment; Emotional Support for survivors and co’survivors; Crisis Intervention Services: Safety Planning and Shelter Placement; STD/I Prophylactics; HIV Prophylactics; Plan B; Interpretation Services.

Provides an opportunity for those who have been victims of a felony committed in Ohio by a juvenile to receive notification regarding a change in the adjudicated juvenile offender's status, such as release, review of probation and conditions of parole.

Provides free, confidential crisis intervention to all victims of violent crimes and trauma, including victims of mass violence incidents. Offers emotional support and information. Services provided will include, but will not be limited to: court accompaniment and support, advocacy to victims of juvenile crimes, witness preparation, information regarding the progress of their case, aid in filing civil protection orders. Offers independent housing to individuals experiencing the disabling effects of a serious mental or psychological problem. HUD subsidized, 19 efficiency apartments.

Provides crisis intervention and advocacy throughout the corrections process, including assisting victims with concerns related to inmates and parolees under the Department's jurisdiction. Notifies victims of crimes, upon their request, of any change in the status of offenders.

Provides non-emergency information and referral services for Mahoning, Columbiana and Trumbull Counties via telephone and online public resource database; text program for food pantry referrals; basic information and referral for surrounding areas, state and national resources. Staff is trained in crisis intervention, suicide prevention and supportive listening.

Provides trauma recovery mental health services (counseling, therapy, and peer support) to victims of violence. Case management is provided to link the client to other community services as appropriate to their situation and needs. The case manager may also provide transportation to and from medical, court and legal appointments associated with recovery from the violent event. In some cases, temporary housing may be provided to clients who are receiving mental health services from this agency.
