Bright Beginnings Parents As Teachers | Bright Beginnings

Offers a Home Visiting program that supports parents as their child's earliest and best teacher and helps children grow, learn, and reach their full potential. Once the child has been referred, the parent will be assigned a Parent Educator. The Parent Educator is a trained professional in child development who will schedule visits that are at a convenient time and place for the family. At those visits, the Parent Educator will bring age-appropriate activities and materials for the parent and child, bring information in response to any questions or needs, provide guidance for challenges such as crying, hitting, sleeping routines, and potty training, conduct developmental screenings and assessments, share what can expected during each stage of development, encourage and support you the parent to become the child's most important teacher, and connect the parent to needed resources and services in the community. Parents as Teachers also offers opportunities to connect with other families. Clients can participate in special groups such as Families in the Kitchen, All About Reading, Let's Paint, and Preschool Prep, as well as, a group through social media called Parents Connect.

Early Intervention Program | Muskingum County Board Of Developmental Disabilities

Program is for children birth to age 3 with a developmental delay or diagnosis that places them at risk for developing a delay. The program offers stimulation and therapy in the areas of fine motor, gross motor, speech and language, social, self help, and cognitive skills. Services & Supports may include: - Developmental assessment of speech, movement, play, social, emotional and self-help skills. - Speech, Occupational, or Physical Therapy - Family Education and Support - Center and Home vists to model strategies for parents to promote skills through play and functional activities. - Information and recommendations on appropriate toys and baby equipment. Classes are set up to meet a variety of needs for infants and toddlers. Staff members work with the children individually and in small groups. Expanded hours are offered for working families. Services can be provided in the home, at Starlight School or in a community setting. All staff members work as a team to meet the needs of children and parents. For example, an art activity may be used to work on a fine motor goal established by the occupational therapist. The occupational therapist may work on a goal identified by the physical therapist. Language skills are developed in all activities. The Early Intervention Program works in collaboration with other agencies such as Help Me Grow to provide comprehensive services for children and their families.

Early Childhood / Intervention | Developmental Disabilities Of Clark County

Early Intervention is part of the Early Childhood department of Developmental Disabilities of Clark County. We provide services for children from birth through two years of age. We also have Service and Support Administrators who work with kids age three to five. Our commitment is to provide quality services for your child and family. We partner with you to promote your child’s participation in daily activities. Parent involvement is crucial in all aspects of the child’s success. Our team is made up of service coordinators, developmental specialists, a speech pathologist, a physical therapist, and an occupational therapist. Each team member has training and experience working with children who have a variety of needs, including hearing and vision loss, Autism, language delays, Down syndrome, limited mobility and more. We will help build your family’s capacity to care for your child and promote his/her growth and development in natural environments. Our program is highly effective, with about 50% of the children receiving our services no longer needing them upon entering preschool. Early Childhood is funded by the Developmental Disabilities of Clark County levy and the State’s early intervention program.

Physical Therapy | Coshocton County Board Of Developmental Disabilities

Early Intervention: Early Intervention physical therapy (0-3 years old) focuses on providing home based therapy to infants who display gross motor or movement delays. The goal of Early Intervention therapy is to help children with these delays as soon as possible so they can reach their fullest potential. The focus is to work with the parent/caregiver on activities to do with the child in order to develop their gross motor skills. School Based: School based physical therapy works with children who would benefit from therapeutic interventions to maximize their education and success in the classroom. The focus is on functional mobility and save, efficient access and participation in educational activities and routines in the learning environment. Staff education for follow through is key to the child being successful and maximizing their academic potential. The therapy staff follows the child's IEP (individual Education Plan) and is a member of a multidisciplinary school team.

Early Intervention | Perry County Board Of Developmental Disabilities

Serves children 0-3 who have a developmental delay or a medical diagnosis likely to result in delay. The EI team consists of a service coordinator, a developmental specialist, and occupational, physical and speech therapists. The team also has an Early Childhood Mental Health provider, a hearing specialist, and of course the family. All team members work together to help reach outcomes the family desire. Early Intervention supports learning and development, child social and emotional well-being, and helps families through a coaching model within the context of daily routines and activities. Services for pre-school aged children - The Perry County Board of DD provides services to children 3-6 through the support of an early childhood specialist. These services are primarily home based and often times supplement the work of preschool special education, or may stand alone for those children not enrolled in preschool. Through discovery with families, the specialist learns of the unique strengths and needs of the child, and helps the family build on those strengths or provides resources for assessed needs. Services for school-aged children - The Perry County Board of DD provides service coordination to families enrolled with school-aged children. The role of the service coordinator is to help connect families with needed resources and supports as requested. The service coordinator is available to attend IEP meetings with families, make application for family selected supports, and serves as a resource for families as they navigate various systems for services for their children.

Help Me Grow is a system of supports for pregnant women, caregivers with new babies, and families with young children with developmental delays and disabilities. This system includes Central Intake, Early Intervention (EI) and Early Childhood Home Visiting. • Early Intervention works with families with children birth to age three who have developmental delays or disabilities so that they have the best possible start in life. EI will evaluate and assess a child’s speech, motor, adaptive self-help cognitive and social-emotional skills. The EI program has supported families through these challenges by developing goals, providing strategies and activities families can use to help their children progress with their development and connect the family with additional community resources or medical providers when needed. Additionally, the program continues to collaborate closely with the Infant Mental Health Program through the Greene County Educational Services Center who provides additional support to the EI team and to families, supporting and addressing family challenges due to the additional stressors families continue to face. • Early Childhood Home Visiting • Healthy Families America (HFA) is one of the leading family support and evidence-based home visiting programs in the United States. We believe early, nurturing relationships are the foundation for healthy development. We currently have four family support specialists to serve families. • Nurse-Family Partnership (NEW ADDITION) has the same goals as HFA, however, participants must be first time mothers and enroll prior to 28 weeks gestation. It is staffed by a team of Bachelor of Science in Nursing prepared Registered Nurses (RNs). Two full-time RNs are currently serving families and have the capacity to serve more.

The early childhood education program is designed to meet the needs of the children at their levels of ability. A group-oriented, facility-based program is offered for children 18-36 months of age. An individual plan is developed for each child and his/her family, outlining goals to be focused on over the course of the school year. A variety of services help children achieve their goals, including: Educational and therapeutic services; Daily use of a fully accessible play yard and/or gross motor room; Individual family service plans; In-home visits throughout the school year; and Transition to a preschool setting. Classroom size is limited to eight children with one certified teacher and teacher's assistant per classroom. Students also work with trained physical, occupational and speech therapists.
