Hospice helps patients achieve comfort and fulfillment in the final period of life. Genesis Hospice provides medical care and support services not only to the patient but also to the patient’s family and caregivers. Hospice enables individuals to live their lives where they are most comfortable. Most patients are referred to hospice by a physician or another health care professional; however, anyone may refer a patient.

Provides comprehensive physical, emotional, psychosocial, and spiritual care delivered by an interdisciplinary team of professionals with expertise in end-of-life care. Treatment goals focus on patient comfort when cure is no longer possible and life expectancy is measured in days, weeks or months rather than years.

Provides hospice services.

Provides pain and symptom management for those with early to mid stages of degenerative or terminal illnesses. Once symptoms become more severe, patients will be referred to hospice.

Provides palliative pain and symptom management, care, and emotional support for persons with a life-limiting illness (life-threatening or terminally ill) and their families. The Hospice team of Nurses, Aides, Social Workers, Clergy and Volunteers helps patients to live their remaining days with dignity, comfort and control. Family members have bereavement support for 13 months after the death of patient.

When hospice care is suggested, the patient and family members have the legal right to choose the hospice organization they want to use. Hospice of Miami County, Inc. provides care and case management for persons dealing with a life ending illness in patient's home or other residence, nursing facility or medical facility.

HNCO provides comfort, support, and care for families dealing with the last phase of life. Our care team gives guidance and assurance and journeys with patients and families. Physical, spiritual, and emotional support is provided in the patient's home or where the patient lives. Palliative care is also available for those dealing with chronic illnesses, even if they are seeking curative measures. Free bereavement services, including individual counseling, support groups, and workshops, are provided for the families of hospice patients, and also to anyone in the community living with grief.
