Serves as a liaison between charitable, education, health care and non-profit organizations in Columbiana County and residents age 55 and older who wish to volunteer. Participants are matched with agencies based on their skills, interests and geographic location. Telefriend provides peer telephone reassurance calls.

Senior Companion Program
Seeks volunteers to work with children in the Toledo area, mainly Toledo Public Schools. Volunteers serve between 15-30 hours a week in school settings, helping with goals and objectives set by teacher. Volunteers receive a small stipend for hours worked and mileage. Training and monthly in-service is provided to volunteers.

AmeriCorps members age 17 and older work with community-based organizations through direct service to help meet critical needs in education, healthy futures, veterans/military families, environmental stewardship, disaster preparedness/response and economic opportunity.
The Senior Companion Program is an AmeriCorps Senior Progarm that pair companions with older adults to provide non-medical services, including socialization, phone reassurance, medication reminders, assistance with daily activities, respite, and transportation. Senior companions receive a modest stipend, paid training, mileage reimbursement, personal paid time, and supplemental insurance.

The Social Support Program is designed to provide consistent support and encouragement for people who are isolated and need assistance of staff and volunteers to socialize with peers and to offer respite for their caregivers. A network of support is offered to those with mobility issues or cognitive challenges with the goal of supporting independence. Referrals are accepted through the local healthcare systems, family or self referrals.

Volunteers serve at 32 sites across Washington County assisting in food pantries and free meal sites, delivering meals to shut-ins, providing transportation to seniors, as well as museums and social service agencies.

During an assessment, care management staff will review any unmet needs to determine if the individual needs support through Home Care Assistance, Meals on Wheels, Medical Transportation, Assistive equipment, Adult Day support, Home modification, Etc.

Provides AmeriCorps members an opportunity to provide community service in Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) schools as tutors, mentors and role models. Goal is to keep Cleveland students in school and on track to graduate. Participants receive a bi-weekly stipend, and at the end of their service receive scholarship funds which can be used only for higher education.
Provides meaningful volunteer opportunities for men and women, age 55 and older. The program seeks to capture the experience, knowledge and skills that are offered by senior Americans, in order to fill specific community needs.
Provides opportunities for people to volunteer their time and work for low wages on projects whose objective is to help developing countries make improvements in the areas of agriculture, community economic development, education, environment, health, and youth.
