Big Brothers Big Sisters provides carefully screened adult volunteers to serve as friends and role models to children. They also provide sexual abuse prevention training in addition to social activities for program participants.Volunteers must have access to car/insurance.

Links parents of children with albinism to a trained parent liaison. Parent liaisons offer information, guidance about resources, and peer support.

Offers a mentoring program to parents that are involved in the child welfare system. Mentors provide guidance and support to parents. Services include assisting in connecting parents to community resources and helping parents improve parenting skills and creating a more stable home enviroment.

Provides outreach services which include transportation to medical appointments (for persons 60+); home visiting; assistance with tax and insurance forms and applications. Also a site for the Golden Buckeye program.

Provides support and information for individuals concerned about breast cancer from someone who has been there - a breast cancer survivor. This program helps breast cancer patients and their loved ones address the emotional, physical and social issues related to breast cancer.

Program focuses on supporting middle and high school-aged refugee and immigrant students in Columbus City Schools and other participating central Ohio districts by matching students with adult mentors throughout their educational journeys.

Provides gender-specific group mentoring programs for Hispanic students in 6th through 12th grade. Staff facilitates in-person sessions that cover topics like relationships, goals, health, college/post-secondary opportunities, and more. Provides two groups: ELLOS (Esperanza Latino Leaders for an Outstanding Society) for males and ELLA (Esperanza Latina Leadership Alliance) for females.

Providing life skills services program;“Getting Ahead" assisting individuals living in poverty, evaluate their lives, develop the life skills necessary to survive and flourish. Participants develop a series of mental models to examine their own past and create a new future. Participants create a "plan for prosperity" with goals to gain employment, start a monthly budget, savings plan and/or obtain permanent housing.

Children are matched with adult volunteers for a mentoring relationship that lasts for one year or longer. Mentors and Mentees can be found in as many places as their mutual interests take them: soccer fields, fairs, libraries, theaters, kitchens, and backyards. Young and older have fun while forming a strong relationship that leads to positive outcomes for the child. Our Mentees: - 5-17 years old - Residing in Southeast Ohio, especially Athens, Meigs, Monroe, Vinton or Washington Counties - Referred to Southeast Ohio Youth Mentoring (SEOYM) by a school employee, social worker, or a parent/guardian - Eager to spend 1-2 hours a week with a Mentor - Have the full support of the parent/guardian to participate in the program Our Mentors: - Complete a thorough background check, an interview with a staff member, a home visit, and training - Are 19 years of age or older - Have a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance - Spend a minimum of 1-2 hours a week for one year (usually longer!) with a child - Are committed to being a role model for children who grow up in our community.

Comprehensive mentoring program between college single parent students and Columbus area high school teen girls and young women who are parenting or pregnant. Empowers parenting girls and young women with the knowledge that education can bring economic self-sufficiency and shows by example that it is possible.

Program is designed to provide a nurturing, supportive environment designed to encourage youth to complete school and develop leadership skills. When creating matches, career and personal interests are considered, as well as information collected during student and volunteer interviews. Interactions may include texting, social media, dinner, arts & cultural events, college visits, etc.

8 week education course for adults with mental health conditions who are looking to better understand themselves and their recovery. Taught by trained leaders with lived experience. Program includes activities, discussions, and informative videos.

Offers after-school mentoring program that matches high school students and adults with elementary school children.
