Offers support, information, resources, and training to families of children with special needs. Services are provided by experienced parents and primary caregivers of an individual with special health care needs.

Provides mentoring relationships for children five through sixteen years old and adult volunteers. Provides the children with an increased sense of belonging, and often leads to enhanced communication skills and improved performance at home, at school and in the community. There are 2 different mentoring programs available: High School Bigs Program and Community Based Mentoring. Located in the Friendly House Community Center. There is a mail box in the main office at Friendly House so information can be left. Please call before coming as they are frequently out of the office with appointments.

Pairs younger students with volunteers and who serve as role models, tutors, and friends. All volunteers are screened and matched with a younger student by the agency. Works to match adults and youth to create supportive mentoring relationships.

Provides assistance dealing with trauma in a variety of ways. Services may include counseling, advocacy, support groups (peer led), peer to peer support, and other services, depending on the trauma experienced. Helps with navigating compensation services for those eligible for assistance through the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) .Provides trauma-focused counseling staffed by a social work professional for crime victims as well as social work care coordination.

Provides trained adult volunteers to serve as role models, friends and mentors for youth and young adults that may benefit from a supportive relationship. Mentors offer encouragement, guidance and a range of constructive activities.

The mission of Ohio Parent Mentors is to provide the necessary support and resources to families of children with disabilities and the professionals who serve them. Parent mentors: guide families through the special education process and help them understand rights and responsibilities; listen and provide support to families and educators on an individual basis; attend Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and other meetings at parent or staff request; organize and conduct information sessions or workshops based on the needs of families and professionals.

Health awareness and prevention. Provide educational workshops, fatherhood training, employment training, and health screenings.

Faith based non-profit providing social development for children; skill classes, family assistance; tutoring/health services for children; Super Kids program providing Biblically based music, games, drama, videos, object lessons, etc.; Super Kids Thrive providing Bible character education program; Summer Day Camp program; Teen Leadership program for Middle-High School students providing skill building, Ready-4-Work program, mentoring, camp and community service opportunities; karate classes $10/month; Christmas and Easter outreach; Summer NOW Youngstown outreach. Provide family assistance: food boxes, clothing, shoes, housewares, diapers and hygiene items and monthly transportation to local market.

Community-based Mentoring is a traditional Mid-Ohio Youth Mentoring relationship. It’s all about the time spent with the volunteer and the young person doing things they enjoy. A few hours a couple of times a month filled with shared interests and activities like: - Shooting hoops - Playing a board game - Sharing a pizza - Taking a walk in the park - Hanging out and talking The schedule can be flexible to meet the needs of mentors and young people in different kinds of situations. Some mentors meet their child on the weekend or in the evening. Others get together with their mentees after school. There’s almost no one so busy that they can’t find a way to fit in a few hours a month.

The Outlet is an individual, group, school and community-based mentoring and prevention services program serving males ages 10 to 18, residing in Delaware and Franklin Counties.

Provides volunteer mentors to tutor youth and assist them in learning pro-social behavior and life and leadership skills. Activities take place in group and 1-on-1 settings.

Offers a program to offer Veterans with the transition to civilian life that deals with traumas, both physical and mental, which could lead to their involvement with the criminal justice system. Provides Veterans access to programs, treatment, and interaction with mentors. Coordinates with the Summit County Fatherhood Initiative to address barriers that may be preventing them from connection with their children.

Provides seniors who are lonely and/or isolated with a regular visitor and/or telephone call.

Help Me Grow Home Visiting is Ohio's program for expectant parents, newborns, infants and toddlers. The program provides health and developmental services so that children start school healthy and ready to learn. Help Me Grow works with parents to support young children's development. Home Visitors provide on-going home visits in the home; focus on improving prenatal health habits and infant care giving skills; provide information on child's health, growth, education and development through the Parents As Teachers program; provide screenings for health, hearing, vision and development; connect families with community resources and services. Affiliated with the evidence-based home visiting model Parents As Teachers. Services include - Developmental Screening - Information on parenting tips - Assistance in developing and reaching family goals - Home Visits to help each child stay "on the road" to healthy growth and development - Service Coordination - professional nurses, teachers, or other qualified staff who share their knowledge about available resources, assist families in connecting with needed services, coordinate services to help families meet their needs and goals. Help Me Grow is - Family-friendly and family centered - Supportive and respectful of each family's needs and preferences - Individualized to meet the needs of each child and family.

Provides services for seniors or permanently disabled adults to remain independent. Services include home visits, help with forms and paperwork, utilities and more.

Operates a peer network made up of foster care alumni. Network members meet regularly, offer peer-to-peer support, meet with policymakers, and participate in child welfare advocacy opportunities.

Provides inhome companionship to seniors 55+ older who simply need a friend and to combat senior isolation

Provides home visits to those who are homebound or in nursing homes or hospitals.

Provides one-to-one mentoring services to young people in permanent custody of the Cuyahoga County Division of Children and Family Services (DCFS). Will match mentors and mentees according to preferences and common interests, along with providing supervision, training and support.

Provides a program that seeks to develop leadership skills, and healthy relationships in young men. Participants have supportive relationships with youth development coaches through one-on-one mentoring. Coaches are adult men who serve as positive role models. Skills are taught through discussion, martial arts classes, and opportunities to do community service in the area. Capacity of each session is 15.

Places older adults in the homes of housebound adults and elder individuals to provide companionship, support and tasks of daily living that are necessary to help their clients maintain independence. Services may include light housekeeping, assistance with grocery shopping, meal preparation, and support to family caregivers.
