The program will serve homeless families in Greene County. Families may stay up to 6 months. Case management is provided weekly. Current program follows Family and Children First practices.

Provides a program that meet the needs of the family and focuses on their strengths. Parents discover the tools, knowledge and support system they need to successfully parent their child(ren). Goal is for children to build the confidence to develop healthy habits. Program includes one-on-one support, monthly parent and teen groups, educational opportunities, peer network building, normalizing family social activities, information and referral and personal advocacy.

Offers privately owned rental housing that is made available to low-income households at reduced rates based on a contract between HUD or the state housing authority and the property owner.

Provides a variety of adoption services. Offers information on adoption and the different types of adoption. Provides evaluation of families looking to adopt and placement of children into an adoptive home. Offers post adoption services including counseling, therapeutic education, support groups, anger management and respite care.

Provides emergency case management and referral to Lakewood families facing an immediate crisis. Provides referrals to proper resources, transportation if needed, assistance with forms, and assistance in obtaining an interpreter if needed in the emergency.

Operates a residential treatment program for women who have substance use disorders. Services for residents include: individual and group substance use counseling, on-site support groups, career planning, education, aftercare, family and children's services, and follow-up. Women with children and women who are pregnant are welcome at the facility. May provide bus tickets or Uber Health for enrolled clients, if necessary.

Develops partnerships with parents, guardians, and youth in order to strengthen the family unit by providing case management and supportive services. The goal is to help youth succeed in school and develop life skills with help from the family. The Family Resource Center also aids families that are dealing with issues such as domestic violence, truancy, teen pregnancy/parenting, job readiness, and youth who are demonstrating at-risk behaviors.

Offers a free five week discussion group on stepfamilies to military members and their families. Topics include: understanding the pitfalls and potentials of stepfamily living, strengthening the couple's relationship, and the stepchild's dilemma.

- Provides transitional housing and services to female victims of domestic violence. Permits children to reside with mother. - Designed to be longer-term housing of up to one year after a possible stay in secure shelter. - Housing is subsidized by The Portage Metropolitan Housing Authority and is located at an apartment building in Kent. - There are 11 units with two (2) bedrooms each. - Will help clients seeking stable housing with acquiring household items and furniture.

Offers privately owned rental housing that is made available to low-income individuals and families at reduced rates based on a contract with HUD. Units are available for elderly, disabled, and/or handicapped individuals, as well as family units. Section 8 units are also available. Manages 351 apartments on Everton Lane and on Rentar Lane in Akron.

Offers site-based Section 8 / Low Income Housing. Consists of 40 1-bedroom units designated for older adults and/or individuals with disabilities. Two- and 3-bedroom units are available for families.

Provides leadership to assure an effective system of collaborative, coordinated and efficient community services which assist each family and child to meet their individual needs and responsibilities.
