Performs a detailed screening to identify barriers, needs, and opportunities for women and their families and then a step-by-step approach to action is taken to each item. Applies for and/or enrolls individuals in various community programs that the individual qualifies for, such as WIC and Medicaid. Completes a minimum of three (3) outreach attempts on each person screened to ensure all needs/opportunities have been met.

The WIC Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) is a dual purpose program which benefits both WIC participants and farmers. In the program, WIC participants are given $30 in coupons to purchase authorized fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs from authorized farmers at farmers' markets and farm stands.
