Southwest Community Based Services | University Settlement

Provides the opportunity to get assistance with issues related to parenting, to apply for needed benefits (including possible help with rent and/or utilities), to participate in a job training program with the goal of employment, and to discuss with a case manager a plan for family success with a professional social worker. Service may include assistance with becoming a foster or adoptive parent. Provides intensive assistance and case management to reunite families who have been seperated and aho have a case with the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS).

Family Support - Parent Coaching | Ohioguidestone

Family resource services offering parenting classes with a parenting coach. Parenting coach helps to create a plan for overcoming parenting challenges, and improving caregiving effectiveness. On call during emergencies, and will mentor/guide parent through issues. Parenting classes are provided by those certified to teach the evidence-based Nurturing Parenting Curriculum, designed to prevent and treat child abuse and neglect by reaching families who have come to the attention of Social Services. Offers the following guidelines: * Age-appropriate expectations * Emotional regulation * Dignified system of discipline * Self-awareness * Healthy sense of empowerment * Humor and laughter Services are provided with goal to prevent family separation or reunite family after separation. * Services are faith-based and LGBTQIA+ inclusive.

Provides a fatherhood program for fathers and father figures. Programming covers topics such as co-parenting, communication, men's health, children's growth, and the importance of fatherhood. Additionally, all participants work with a case manager to address individual needs such as child support navigation, parenting time/custody navigation, basic needs, and other goals. Employment coordinators are available to assist with job readiness, resume creation, and referrals for employment. Job/Interview ready clothing may be provided, if needed.
