The Soy Latina, "I am Latina," Victim Services Program serves victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, family violence, dating violence, and stalking. Promotora Specialists, fulfill many functions while working with these cases; they become victim advocates, educators, and caseworkers to ensure that the victim has access to every legal, medical, and social service available to them. The program parties a client-centered approach in empowering survivors by informing them of the resources available and their legal rights and making decisions that best fit their needs. From the first meeting, Promotoras are there to support the survivor in their decisions and attend any and all meetings, appointments, or hearings for which the survivor wishes them to be present. Services offered include: Safety planning, Medical and legal advocacy, Court companionship, Life coaching, Crisis intervention, Assistance filing the victim compensation application, Registering for the VINE link and more. The Empoderando Mujeres, "empowering women," Community Empowerment Group for Latina/Hispanic women throughout the Central Ohio area in where community members participate in activities such as tejido (knitting), manualidades (crafts), Zumba, maquillaje (make-up), and other Latino activities along with education on domestic violence, sexual abuse, and healing. The group meets once a week at the main office location.

Provides sports training and competition opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Offers privately owned rental single-family housing and select apartment sites that have some units made available to low-income families.

Receives and investigates reports of child abuse and neglect.

Provides a complaint process for clients who feel that there may have been a mistake on their case. The first step is to contact the caseworker or their supervisor. If the client is not satisfied with the result, a state hearing may be requested. The state hearing is a meeting with the client, an agency representative, and a hearing officer from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. The hearing officer will hear information from the client and the agency and make a decision to resolve the issue.

Project Lifesaver Team is trained to approach a person with Alzheimer's disease or developmental disability, gain their trust, and put them at ease for the trip home.

Provides a 24 hour mental health and substance use disorder crisis line.

Miami County Right To Life Society offers Christmas toys/gifts.

Provides a voucher to help cover the cost of taking an Ohio High School Equivalency (HSE) test that can result in the equal of a high school diploma for successful test takers. The voucher discounts, but does not erase, the cost of a test.

Provides low interest disaster loans to homeowners, renters, businesses of all sizes and private, nonprofit organizations to repair or replace real estate, personal property, machinery and equipment, inventory and business assets that have been damaged or destroyed in a declared disaster.

Home based supportive services are provided within an intentional framework of Collaborative Helping. Extensive use of technology also allows us to bring all clinical behavioral health services into homes and elsewhere throughout the community.

Provides primary medical services for women, including screenings, such as breast exams, pregnancy tests, and pap smears, as well as birth control.

Provides early childhood education programs to children ages 3-5 years old, from income eligible families.

Evaluates cases related to consumer issues such as credit card collection attempts or lawsuits, or court debt from criminal cases; student loans, payday loans, auto title loans; home repair contracts or other contracts; recent repossessions, threats of repossession; and lawsuits following car repossession; medical or nursing home collection.

Hears all civil cases involving small claims and mediation claims up to $6,000 or regular civil docket claims up to $15,000. Hears all traffic cases within its jurisdiction. Houses court records filed in service area and makes them available to the public.

Provides information and support in regard to educational issues to families with children who have disabilities. Serves as a liaison between families and school district personnel in order to foster positive parent/professional relationships and enhance children’s learning experiences. Parent Mentor may provide in-person counseling, help fill out paperwork, provide mediation, and accompany parents to IEP meetings.

Divine Rehabilitation and Nursing at Shane Hill is an assisted living facility.

Takes reports, investigates, and enforces violations of federal firearms, alcohol, and tobacco control laws. May also report observed gang activities, vendor violations of alcohol, tobacco, and firearms licensing laws. Will also investigate reports of violations of laws covering explosives and explosive devices.

Provides monthly subsidies to families who adopted a child and are providing care and support past 18 years of age.

Classes offered in CPR instruction and first aid for adults, infant/child, re-certifications, & professional rescuer.

Establishes and enforces zoning regulations which classify land within the City of Avon specific agricultural, residential, commercial or industrial uses. Hears appeals regarding exceptions to zoning regulations.
