PRC provides one-time financial assistance (in a 12 month period) to aid with emergency situations. Program is not meant to serve as an ongoing source of income. Maximum assistance allowed is $2500 for overdue rent or mortgage payments, security deposits, temporary housing, property taxes, home repairs (if the owner;) overdue utility bills (except during Winter Crisis), driver license reinstatement fees, transportation and auto repairs. Applicants can request aid for more than one emergency (up to maximum assistance limit).

Offering an electric vehicle car share program. Fully charged, the cars have a range of 259 miles. - In partnership with Shaker Heights-based Sway Mobility.

Transportation program for Medicaid eligible individuals which pays for transportation to and from Medicaid covered services including physicians, laboratory and pharmacy. Individuals can choose the transportation contracted provider - either Champaign Transit System or Quality Care Transport.

Provides a comprehensive breast cancer early detection program. Services include breast health education, referrals to (and transportation to) free or low-cost breast exams and mammograms, breast cancer support group, and case management for individuals who have an abnormal mammogram report or a diagnosis of breast cancer.

Offers welcoming services to international visitors and business people. Provides the United States Department's International visitors arrival greetings at Akron/Canton Airport, hotel arrangements, professional appointments, and other services. Provides professional programs, assistance by accompanying visitors on programs, tours, shopping, and home hospitality for individuals coming from countries all over the world sponsored by the United States Department of State. Provides a variety of programs for University of Akron's International Students, scholars, and families.

Provides transportation to and from Veterans Affairs (VA) medical facilities in Dayton for veterans unable to afford or arrange transport on their own.

Provides non-emergency medical transportation up to three times per month. Will transport north to Toledo and south to Findlay.

Provides eligible veterans with free transportation to and from veteran health care centers for scheduled medical appointments.

Works with a variety of churches and organizations to provide temporary emergency financial aid for residents of Geauga County. Provides assistance with past due rent and mobile home lot payments (does not help with current month's rent). Also assists with utility bill payments (water, gas, electric), fuel oil, and propane. Will help with purchasing wood for heating. Does not help with phone bills. Provides gasoline vouchers for medical appointments or job interviews. Funds are limited and subject to availability and the amount of assistance provided may vary depending on what funds the agency has and the client’s situation. In all cases, agency will check to see if the client is eligible for assistance through other programs or agencies first. Payments are made directly to the vendor (not the client). In some situations, client may need to provide a co-payment for the service needed.

Provides transportation for any purpose (medical appointments, shopping, hairdresser, etc.), rides to the polls during election season for seniors living in partner communities. In general, destinations are limited to the suburbs served, with clients remaining on their own side of the county. There are a few exceptions, such as some suburban medical facilities outside the immediate service area, but in most cases all trips outside partner communities would be only on a space- and time-available basis.

Assistance includes: - Housing Grants: provides modifications, repairs, and adaptive home updates. - Family Support Grants: offers financial assistance for rent or mortgage. - Medical Care Grants: offers financial assistance to pay expenses not covered by insurance or VA. - Transportation Grants: provides adaptive vehicle or modifications to existing vehicle and vehicle repairs.

Operates four (4) fixed bus routes that primarily serve the Ohio communities in Belmont and Jefferson Counties of Bellaire, Bridgeport, Brookside, Martins Ferry, Rayland, Shadyside, Tiltonsville, Yorkville and the communities located along the Blaine route west of Brookside (such as Wolfhurst, Lansing and Blaine). The four (4) bus routes also cross the Ohio River to offer service to and from downtown Wheeling. Connects with Steel Valley Regional Transit Authority (SVRTA) in Rayland, OH six (6) times a day Monday through Friday and five (5) times on Saturdays. The four (4) fixed routes operated by the Eastern Ohio Regional Transit Authority (EORTA) are the Blaine/Ohio Valley Mall, Martins Ferry/Rayland, Martins Ferry/Yorkville, and Shadyside runs.

Provides rail passenger and package service throughout North America.

Provides transportation to the VA medical facilities of Wade Park, Parma, Sandusky, Lorain, and Mansfield. Other non-VA medical appointments as available.

Offers a van and bus to take seniors to medical appointments, shopping, pharmacy and beauty appointments. Shopping and beauty appointments are only available on certain days. Call before making appointment to confirm availablity. No wheelchair lift available.

Provides bus tickets for veterans to reach appointments at Veterans Affairs Medical Centers. Tickets will be provided up to 30 days ahead of time.

Provides transportation to VA medical center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Provides van transportation for seniors and others with disabilities to the senior center, medical appointments, shopping, and other necessary trips. The farthest the city’s vehicles will travel is to the Avon Cleveland Clinic.

Community members can ride Fare Free! On your first trip, pick up your free Community Member Athens Public Transit Pass from your driver. This is your ticket for free rides through April 2026. Next time you ride the bus, show your pass and settle in for your ride.

This program is limited to current clients utilizing Senior Supportive Services. Provides door-to-door transport for seniors to doctor's appointments, hospitals, lab clinics, etc. Required 14 day advance notice.
