Homebuyer'S Workshops | Northern Ohio Affordable Housing

Provides a pre-home buyers' course on budgeting, basic banking, credit and debt management, tax tips, the home buying process, asset creation, predatory lending, and financial goal setting. Clients receive a certificate upon completion of the course and are then entitled to one-on-one counseling and advice on specific financial matters.

Adult Learner Program (ALP) | College Now Greater Cleveland

Provides career and college counseling and financial aid assistance to those seeking help to begin or go back to college or post-secondary programs such as vocational schools or training programs. Counseling is given regarding career options and interests, colleges, the admission process, financial aid, the completion of forms, and scholarship searches. Offers financial assistance provided through three types of scholarships. Can counsel individuals on student loan debt and help find the best option to help pay the debt, such as Income Based Repayment plans, loan forgiveness options, and/or consolidation options. Will help with applications for those options. Note: Does not provide direct financial assistance.

Foreclosure Prevention Hotline | Homeownership Preservation Foundation

This toll-free hotline will connect callers to a nonprofit counselor who will provide telephone-based budget counseling assistance, customer triage and negotiation with lenders, when appropriate. If more assistance is needed, callers will be referred to a local nonprofit organization whose employees are certified to provide intensive financial counseling and direct consumers to local services and resources, including possible assistance through the Ohio Home Rescue Fund.
