Private businesses purchase overdue property taxes from the county. Collectors add interest and fees to the overdue debt and attempt to collect from property owners who owe the debt. They may offer a payment plan to taxpayers. Those who do not respond to debt collectors' communications risk having their property foreclosed or the debt being sold to another collection agency.

Provides discounts on property tax for property of any owner, permanently and totally disabled and whose total annual income (including spouse's income) is not over $30,000.
