Provides scholarships for blind students to use to continue their education past high school. Scholarships can be used to attend any post-secondary school or graduate school program. There is a national scholarship program and a state scholarship program. Students may apply to both.

Provides education aid information for veterans educational benefits programs and also offers scholarship information

Offers educational benefits to eligible dependents of certain veterans. Generally provides up to 45 months of benefits to eligible participants. However, some eligible dependents may be able to receive up to 81 months of GI Bill benefits, if they qualify for multiple benefit programs. Can be used for degree and certificate programs, apprenticeships and on the job training. Other educational programs may be authorized under certain circumstances.

Provides services for clients to find gainful employment or training. Specific services include: counseling and planning, mobility training, personal and work adjustment training, vocational training (including small business development), training supplies and books, artificial limbs, braces, eyeglasses, hearing aids, psychotherapy, student financial aid to attend post-secondary classes, physical therapy, wheelchairs (if needed for work) occupational supplies, placement, and follow-up on the job. Clients accepted in the program develop a plan for employment with a staff counselor that they meet with periodically during a specified time for follow-up. Services are time-limited. Services include transitional assistance from school to work or college for students who are graduating from high school.

Assistance available includes: - Auto Insurance - Liability up to four (4) months coverage. - Emergency Home Repairs - Not basic upkeep or maintenance. - Car Repair - Not regular maintenance. - Mortgage Payments - Up to four (4) months past due. - Driver's Education Classes. - Rent - Up to four (4) months past due OR Security Deposit plus first month's rent. - Employment Related Expenses. - Utilities - Up to four (4) months past due more than 30 days. - GED Incentive. - Emergency Hot Water Tank Repairs or Replacement. - Emergency Furnance Repairs or Replacement. - Emergency HVAC Repairs. - School Fees. - Pest Removal Services. - Property Taxes - ½ year delinquent or longer.

Provides financial and other supports to eligible young adults to assist in finding and maintaining safe and secure housing (possibly rent, deposit, and/or gas, electric or water utilities), food, clothing, personal care items, educational and training expenses, and other services that assist with transitioning from foster care to adulthood. Service includes regular meetings with a case manager to help direct the young adult and oversee payments for services. Assistance may be provided as long as the young adult remains eligible.

The Foundation encourages charitable tax-exempt organizations serving Richland County residents to apply for a competitive grant to provide programs and services that fulfill the current needs of the community (Competitive Grant Program). We provide scholarships for local students to attend college or a career technical education center. We award grants to nonprofit agencies that wish to develop creative, educational and fun-filled activities for Richland County children throughout the summer months (Summertime Kids Program). We award grants to Richland County teachers to develop creative and interesting new programs, projects or events for the K-12 classrooms of Richland County (Teacher Assistance Program - TAP). Administers a variety of grant and scholarship programs to aid students pursuing higher education in Ohio.

Provides assistance in meeting the costs of medicine and emergency needs when no other means are available. There is a limit of $400/calendar year ($200/semi yearly) for assistance with medication grants. There is a one-time/year amount of up to $100 for emergency grants. Emergency needs may include, but are not limited to, utilities and car repair. Offers transportation assistance in the form of mileage reimbursement, bus passes, and cab vouchers (on an emergency basis) for dialysis and transplant patients. Makes available personalized medical alert tags. No assistance is offered for rent, mortgage, or lease payments. Also offers financial assistance to those with kidney disease who are pursuing higher education.

Provides non-recurrent, short-term benefits that deal with a specific crisis situation or episode of need; not intended to meet recurrent or ongoing need; and will not extend beyond four months.
