Provides a two-part class for new hearing aid users, aimed at improving their quality of life. Teaches clients how to use their hearing aids properly, with listening strategies so that communicating becomes easier and less frustrating.
Serves all ages providing complete audiology support by licensed Doctors of Audiology. Services include hearing evaluations, hearing aid fittings, tinnitus treatment, and rehabilitative services while offering the latest in hearing aid technology. Cochlear implant services are available through our Cochlear Implant Therapy Program.

Individual Support Services (ISS) is a locally funded program that help meet some of the unique needs of individuals eligible for services, birth through their lifespan. To receive ISS, an individual must be determined eligible for county board services and cannot be enrolled on a Level one (LV1), Self-empowered Life Funding (SELF) or individual Options (IO) Medicaid Waiver, or reside in a nursing facility. The ISS program has four tiers that are based on an individuals age. Each tier has an annual budget that may be accessed for identified needs. Funds are based upon availabilty, and a waiting list may apply to this service area. ISS can assist with a wide range of services, such as respite, assistance for long distance medical travel, adaptive equipment, specialized items and home modifications. All services funded through ISS must be directlyrelated to individual's disability

The Assistive Technology Center at OCALI features resources, supports, professional development and a short-term lending library to assist in the effective implementation of assistive technologies for persons with disabilities. Assistive technologies can assist those with disabilities to more independently access school, work and life activities.
NARIC tests and compares different products in the assistive technology area.
Offers these additional services: * Program Development - for school improvement including curricular development and educational planning * Technical Assistance - to aid educators and parents in designing effective instruction for children with disabilities, using all applicable standards * Intervention Design - for children identified or suspected of having a disability * Systematic Problem Solving - to inform instruction through problem identification, data collection and progress monitoring.

Offers a multi-specialty clinic for children who use a wheelchair and who require special adaptive equipment to improve their positioning and promote functional independence. The seating team outfits and customizes wheelchairs and other seating devices, building in growth potential to all seating systems. Service includes referrals to vendors who provide the needed seating systems.

We offer several programs and services to achieve that goal. We also keep up with current legislative activity that affects persons with disabilities, and educate legislators about the needs and concerns of citizens with disabilities.
Provides a display of devices which can assist an individual to hear speech and environmental sounds. Includes amplified telephones, streaming devices, infrared for the television, vibrating alarm clocks, etc. Visitors can try out the devices and discuss individual needs with professional staff. Devices can also be purchased.

Evaluates patients with communication disorders (those who have never spoken or who have lost their ability to speak) and devises augmentative communication systems that may include computers, accessing equipment, adaptive switches, environmental controls, and clinical software. Each system is personalized to fit the user's communication needs and physical abilities. Service includes a lending library of devices that patients may borrow to try before ordering.

Offers a one-hour orientation to the Resource Center and its equipment. Additional fees are charged for consultation on individual clients, assistance with set-up, and use of equipment or inservice training at a business site.
