Facilitates (but does not run) a wide range of programs for adults with developmental disabilities. Each consumer is guided by an individual service plan which is reviewed at least once per year. Supportive services such as communication skills training, psychological services, social work, home training services, and physical therapy assessments are provided along with vocational programs which include work evaluation, basic daily skills development, basic and standard work activities, on-the-job training, supported employment, and job placement. Consumers choose a partner agency and earn wages for their work. A social and recreational program for older adults is also available.

Provides group homes, adult day services, and respite care for persons with developmental disabilities and other special needs. Homes are located in various Summit County communities including Akron, Stow, and Tallmadge.

Administers and approves funds and refers to residential services contracted through independently certified providers. Bridges works with clients by providing assistance with banking, shopping or getting out in the community; to spending a few hours each day assisting with daily living skills or getting ready for work; to 24 hour supports to assist with daily living needs and the opportunity to live independently. We provide transportation to and from appointments, shopping and recreation.

Merakey supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to enhance their abilities and interests. We partner with individuals as they become self-sufficient and live everyday lives. Merakey helps individuals find meaningful roles in their community and to feel valued as community members.
