WIOA Adult and Dislocated Worker Programs are programs designed to assist adults, ages 18 and older. The program assists in providing the tools and/or education needed to obtain and maintain employment that is considered an Ohio in-demand career field.
Offers several free services based on eligibility. Services can include: - Funds for training (books, tuition, lab fees and so forth). - Individual career guidance and counseling. - 3-day career workshop. - Skill assessment. - Skill upgrades. - Supportive services. - On-the-Job Training with area employers and more.
Training funds are available through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), a federal program, to help individuals upgrade their skills or train for a new career. The Adult program focuses on individuals who are either unemployed or underemployed to help them gain the skills needed to obtain employment with higher wages. The Dislocated Worker Program serves workers who have been terminated or laid off and are unlikely to return to their previous occupation, or terminated or laid off due to a mass layoff or a plant closing.

CCMEP (Comprehensive Case Management and Employment Program) is designed for individuals ages 14-24, and helps youth set employment and educational goals with the support of an employment specialist. Participating in this program allows youth to work through challenges that are keeping them from finding and retaining a job or completing their education.

Job Training Formats
Provides employment training, job placement, educational placement, and related supportive services to qualified individuals. Includes job training for all qualifying adults and a program for young people ages 14–24 who face barriers to education, training, and employment.

Career technical training and education program for people ages 16 -24. Students can earn a high school diploma, a high school equivalency credential, or college credits through Job Corps. Offers career technical training in more than 100 career areas. Students receive housing, meals, basic health care, a living allowance, training, and preparation for a career, all at no cost. For up to 21 months after graduation, a career transition counselor will help students make the transition from Job Corps into the real world.

Provides a vocational training and job placement service for unemployed or under-employed individuals. Includes career change counseling and assistance for displaced workers and displaced homemakers. Those interested in job training will first complete career testing and assessment before being placed in an appropriate training program. Offers all participants workshops, computer and telephone access, resume development, and other job search assistance. Maintains a database for job seekers to post their resumes for potential employers to view.

Provides employment and training services in a convenient, easily accessible location. Services include career exploration, testing and assessment; resume preparation assistance, interview training and other prejob guidance services; job matching and referral; job registration; labor market and career information; information on financial aid for education and training; and referral for job training, transportation, child care, personal and financial counseling, health care and other human services resources in the community. Also has computers and a fax machine available at no charge.

Provides short courses, pre-tech and skill certificate programs, apprentice programs, specialized programs under the Workforce Investment Act (WIA), and in-plant training for manufacturing, construction and related industries. Subjects available include manufacturing skills, drafting and design. Apprentices must be sponsored by an employer who is willing to support the on-the-job training component. Apprenticeship areas include bricklaying, carpentry, cement masonry, construction tending and hazardous material abatement, drywall finishing, electrical construction, floor laying, glazing, iron working, millwrighting, operating engineers, painting, sign & display, and teledata.
