Provides cash assistance for families with children age 18 and younger with a three year lifetime limit. The program emphasizes employment, training, education, and support services to promote self-sufficiency.

Provides time-limited cash benefits and supportive services to low-income families. Supportive services include a transportation allowance and job search and placement assistance. Recipients are required to participate in a combination of activities and/or work/training programs to remain in the program. These work activities may include community work experience, job search, training, education, and other activities that will assist the applicant with overcoming barriers to employment. Many families receiving cash assistance may also be eligible to receive food assistance, subsidized childcare assistance, and Medicaid health insurance. Once participants become employed and are no longer eligible for cash benefits, they may continue to receive Medicaid and child care benefits for up to one year or until their income exceeds allowable limit. In addition, clients who transition to work may still be eligible for food assistance (depending on income).
PRC Short-Term Employment Training program can help families gain valuable skills that lay the foundation for self-sufficiency. Available services include: Short-term training that increases the individuals chances of gaining, maintaining, or advancing in employment.
Helps families with children get back on their feet. The OWF program can provide cash assistance to eligible families for up to 36 months. This temporary assistance helps with daily living expenses such as rent, utilities, food, car payments, child care, gas, and more. OWF serves as a temporary support system designed to emphasize employment and family self-sufficiency through programs and services to unemployed and/or low income families. While receiving cash benefits, adult family members search for jobs, attend training for future jobs, participate in volunteer work programs, and/or finish a high school or vocational degree. To assist in job maintenance and retention after an adult family member has found employment, LCJFS continues to provide support services to families as they transition to self-sufficiency.

OWF is a federal, cash assistance program for families with dependent children. OWF provides time-limited cash assistance for eligible families with dependent children younger than 18 years of age and for pregnant women who are in their third trimester of pregnancy.

Ohio Works First is part of Ohio's Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) and provides time-limited cash assistance to eligible families. Low-income families with minor children in the home may qualify. The program allows participants to get monthly payments while they pursue self-sufficiency. Eligibility is determined by income and the number of people living in the home.

Provides temporary financial assistance for families with or expecting children. Also offers job preparation, work opportunities, and access to supportive services such as child care and transportation through the Kentucky Works program to eligible participants. Families who apply for KTAP will also be screened for the Family Assistance Short Term (FAST) program which offers one-time financial assistance with a verified, non-recurrent short-term need.

Provides a program for needy families that includes food assistance (SNAP, formerly known as food stamps), cash assistance and medical insurance/Medicaid; the programs assess employability and create self-sufficiency or an employability plan and services required for receipt of most SNAP and Cash Assistance benefits.
