Provides disaster assistance in the form of cash grants to persons living in a federally declared disaster area in the United States and have property that was damaged or destroyed by the disaster (including cases where losses are not 100% covered by insurance). Depending on the situation, money may be used for needs such as temporary housing, home repairs, home replacement, and personal property replacement as well as other disaster-related costs such as medical, funeral, moving expenses, child care, and transportation. Money granted may not cover all losses.

Provides direct, treatment-related financial assistance to people in the United States who are living with chronic kidney disease. Provides general assistance programs including Health Insurance Premium Program (HIPP) Grants, Safety Net Grants, and Disaster Relief Grants.

Assistance may include emergency shelter or temporary housing, including payment assistance for rent, mortgage, or security deposit; personal expenses, including purchase of necessary clothing for work; home repairs, including payment ofr repair of items affecting basic home structure, including but not limited to walls, roofing, plumbing, furnace, and water supply; appliance purchase and repair, limited to stove or refrigerator. Assistance is based on the totality of the disaster.
