Athens Public Transit (APT) is a fixed route public bus system serving the City of Athens, Ohio, including Albany, Nelsonville, the Village of Chauncey, and The Plains. Community members can ride Fare Free! On your first trip, pick up your free Community Member Athens Public Transit Pass from your driver. This is your ticket for free rides through April 2026. Covers up to 15 round trip or 30 one-way trips to food pantries and trips to pick up groceries from stores where members have placed an order. The number of trips is shared with medical transportation. Benefits also include non-medical trips to county job and family service redeterminations, and WIC appointments.
