Federal, state and city fair housing laws protect people from discrimination on the basis of: race, religion, color, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, ethnic group, Vietnam-era or disabled veteran status, familial status, marital status or ancestry
Provides land-use and infrastructure planning, grant writing, economic development, fair housing local government contact (except for Warren and Niles), affordable housing, zoning and subdivision reviews, floodplain administration, mapping, and information services. Will assist complainants with the filing of discrimination claims and explain options available to the client. Mediation services available to help resolve tenant-landlord disputes. Will serve as a presenter of information about fair housing issues.
