Supportive Services For Veteran Families (SSVF) | Volunteers Of America Of Ohio And Indiana

Provides first month's rent and security deposit to help veterans establish permanent housing. Will also help with rent to help veterans stay in their current housing. Clients are provided with benefits assistance, landlord/tenant assistance, and case management to ensure that they are connected to available community resources and VA benefits. Clients do not have to stay in the county they reside in (may move from county to county).

Neighborhood Support and Recognition, Reserve A Roll-Off - commercial dumpsters for neighborhood use, Neighborhood Signs, and Training- a resource library and training opportunities offered to neighborhood groups throughout the year. Springfield Mediation Services - Provides mediation and conciliation service for neighbor and landlord-tenant and fair housing conflicts for the City of Springfield. Promotes the use of collaboration and mediation to resolve conflicts. Provides ongoing training and support for mediator. Also, celebrates diverse heritage with a yearly CultureFest event, September 27, 2014 and a Global Education Series. Housing Stability/Homelessness Prevention | Community Mediation Services Of Central Ohio

Program provides Eviction Prevention Tenant/Landlord Dispute Resolution Services and free Tenant Eviction Prevention Education Workshops for tenants. Note: if resident is behind on rent and is at risk of eviction, this program will help link tenant to emergency rental assistance in the community and help them problem solve with their landlord so they may get caught up on back rent and maintain their current housing. Program also offers a 2.5-hour free Eviction Prevention Workshops (via Zoom) for tenants to learn how to avoid risk of eviction in the future. Tenants may register for workshops on Event Brite.

Tenant Rights And Fair Housing | Coalition On Homelessness And Housing In Ohio

Provides advocacy and support to tenants throughout Ohio. Offers information on rental rights, fair housing, housing advocacy and tenant organizing. Also provides tenants legal advice concerning landlord/tenant issues. Primary focus is on tenants living in federally assisted housing (Project-based Section 8, Low Income Housing Tax Credits and Rural Housing Service 515 properties), but staff will try to be of service to any Ohioan with questions about their housing rights.
