Wyandot County Public Health’s Children with Medical Handicaps (CMH), (formerly known as Bureau for Children with Medical Handicaps or BCMH), is a program administered by the Ohio Department of Health that links families of children with special health care needs to a network of quality providers helping families pay for the medical services a child needs.

The services are made possible through a partnership between ODH, the Ohio National Guard, Crawford County Public Health, the Crawford County Board of Developmental Disabilities, and local community partners. Services include:

- Blood lab work
- Blood lead level screenings
- Car Seats (and car-seat safety checks)

Through the Health Insurance Premium Program (HIPP), the American Kidney Fund pays Part B Medicare, Medigap, commercial, and COBRA premiums for dialysis patients who have insufficient income and savings. These premium payments allow patients to continue their health insurance coverage, enabling access to physician care and medical treatment.
The Safety Net Program provides small grants to dialysis and kidney transplant patients to help with treatment-related expenses, such as transportation costs to reach dialysis; over-the-counter medicines, medication co-payments, kidney donor expenses and other necessities such as dentures.

Healthchek is a preventive Health Care Program for Newborns, Children, and Teens.
- Children eligible for Healthchek services through Medicaid may receive free physical exams as well as dental, vision, and hearing services.
- Newborns should have six preventive health checkups by age one, and two more checkups between one to two years of age. Those checkups will also make sure your child receives all of the shots he/she needs. Shots prevent illnesses that cause pain, fever, rashes, cough, sore throats, hearing loss, blindness, crippling, brain damage - even death.
- Children & teens...From age two and up, your child should have a preventive Healthchek exam once a year. Healthchek services are also important for teenagers--adolescence is a time of rapid change and growth in the body. The Healthchek screening may serve as a sports physical. ACDJFS can assist you by providing names of doctors and dentists, strategies for scheduling appointments, and transportation to those appointments.

This program is only for employees of US-based public employers, not including the federal government and certain church-related organizations. Continuation coverage is administered by the employer at group rates that are paid by the participant losing eligibility. Handles appeals for those who feel they have been denied coverage unfairly. The Department of Labor covers private sector programs. In Ohio, employers of fewer than 20 employees are covered under a state continuation program administered by the Department of Insurance.
