Microloan Program | Saint Vincent De Paul Society - Knox County

The MicroLoan program is designed to offer small loans of up to $1200 that are repaid by the borrower at a very low interest rate. Eligible expenses include: - Car Expenses - Education Expense - Health Expense - Emergency Home Equipment Expense (unlivable situation) - Other Extraordinary Expenses. (loans are not made for regular living expenses). Repayment of the loan helps borrowers establish or improve their credit score/history. The MicroLoan program can serve as a good alternative to predatory lending companies that charge a very high interest rate and can trap the borrower in a cycle of debt. Financial planning training is required to help the borrower establish a budget and manage money more effectively.

Emergency Assistance - Veterans | Veterans Service Commission - Cuyahoga County

Assists veterans with little or no income in a variety of ways: provides food and clothing vouchers, which are only honored in Cuyahoga County, in emergency situations. In certain circumstances, provides assistance with paying for rent, rent deposit, mobile home lot rental fees, and utility payments (gas, electric, and water). Will help with transportation expenses (which is usually in the form of bus passes). Does not help with property taxes, car insurance, or car payments. Offers emergency leave verification and basic information and referral. Provides access to emergency funds available through the various military aid societies (Army Emergency Relief, Navy Marine Corps Relief Society, Air Force Aid Society, and the Coast Guard Mutual Assistance). The funds can be used for a variety of purposes such as medical care, car repair, emergency travel and utility bill payment assistance. Assistance may come in the form of an interest free loan, a direct grant, or some combination of the two.

Provides financial and other supports to eligible young adults to assist in finding and maintaining safe and secure housing (possibly rent, deposit, and/or gas, electric or water utilities), food, clothing, personal care items, educational and training expenses, and other services that assist with transitioning from foster care to adulthood.
