An Africentric mentoring program committed to affirming the positive aspects of childhood while easing the transition to womanhood. Matches African American women to act as role models for African American girls. Mentor is assigned for a minimum of 6 months.

Program includes sessions on resolving conflict before it escalates, managing money and building credit, time management, goal-setting, effective communication, critical thinking skills for problem solving, and avoiding premature fatherhood. Provides opportunities for older adults to give support and care to children who have special needs in school and daycare settings. Participants receive a small stipend, an annual physical examination, accident and liability insurance and meals during service hours.

AALI functions to create a network of diverse leaders with relevant opportunities to connect and contribute. AALI Social is a monthly gathering for the purpose of networking and establishing connections.
