Career Development | Inroads - Great Lakes Region

Provides college students with programs designed to equip them with skills, practical work experience and insights necessary to become successful in business, technical and/or allied health careers. Services include mentoring and leadership development activities. The goal is placement in a job following graduation, preferably with the sponsoring business. Also provides a support group for the parents of participants, who meet to assist the development of their children, to further their own professional development, and to plan fundraising activities. There is also an active alumni group.

Moms And Babies First - Ohio'S Black Infant Vitality Program | Northeast Ohio Neighborhood Health Services

Provides specialized home-based prenatal services to African American mothers and their families with the goal of reducing infant mortality. Licensed community health workers are assigned to enrolled pregnant women to provide 1 or 2 in-home, monthly face-to-face visits that will continue until the child is 2 years old.

Helps those minorities who are age 55 or older and of low income to improve the quality of their lives by obtaining paid employment and training. Individuals are placed in local non-profit agencies. Also will help in matters pertaining to housing information, health promotion and advocacy by giving referrals/suggestions as needed. Participants may be eligible for up to 4 years of employment.

Offers a program to assist in building self-confidence and self awareness in an effort to resolve past trauma, avoid substance abuse and end cycles of poverty. Program includes sessions on resolving conflict before it escalates, managing money and building credit, time management, goal-setting, effective communication, critical thinking skills for problem solving, and avoiding premature fatherhood. Program may include participation in a golf program.
