AALI functions to create a network of diverse leaders with relevant opportunities to connect and contribute. An Africentric mentoring program committed to affirming the positive aspects of childhood while easing the transition to womanhood. Matches African American women to act as role models for African American girls. Mentor is assigned for a minimum of 6 months.

Minority Men'S Health Center / Minority Mens Health Center | Cleveland Clinic Foundation

Provides screening, education, and treatment for a variety of diseases that affect more men of certain races and ethnicities than their races or ethnicities appear in the population. Typical screenings include prostate cancer, high cholesterol, diabetes, high blood pressure, sickle cell anemia, and testicular cancer.

Grants | United Black Fund Of Greater Cleveland

Functions as a grant making public charity providing funding to charitable organizations only which provide services to residents of greater Cleveland's communities in need. Focuses on providing funding for education including family life and cultural and arts, homelessness, crisis intervention, HIV/AIDS education, re-entry (ex-offenders), workforce development, seniors, youth and social services to African Americans. Does not fund endowments, capital grants, or individuals.

Program is based on Africentric mentoring and rites of passage. Simba matches African American male youths with African American men from the community to act as role models and give friendship, support, and guidance to the young men. Mentors are assigned for a minimum of six months.

Neighborhood Family Supportive Services | East End Neighborhood House

Provides the opportunity to get assistance with issues related to parenting, to apply for needed benefits, to participate in a job training program with the goal of employment and to discuss with a case manager a plan for family success. Service provided by professional social workers. Includes assistance with becoming a foster or adoptive parent, parenting skills for foster parents, adoption and foster care support groups and life skills education.

Moms And Babies First | Greenleaf Family Center

Offers a prenatal support program for low-income African American pregnant women. Provides in home case management services through Community Health Workers (CHW) who make regular home visits throughout the duration of the pregnancy and until the infant turns one (1) year old. In addition, offers support, education and resources via a telehealth option.

Offers an academic enrichment and social responsibility program for youth to participate in projects that are led by mentors and are designed to teach life skills, promote self-discipline, self-respect, and personal responsibility, and provide educational experiences and exposure to different careers. Moms And Babies First - Ohio'S Black Infant Vitality Program | Northeast Ohio Neighborhood Health Services

Provides specialized home-based prenatal services to African American mothers and their families with the goal of reducing infant mortality. Licensed community health workers are assigned to enrolled pregnant women to provide 1 or 2 in-home, monthly face-to-face visits that will continue until the child is 2 years old.

Sisterhood / Summer Of Sisterhood | West Side Community House

Provides an after school learning lab with computers, reading materials, and tutors. Overall focus is on literacy. Includes: service learning, college and career exploration, health and wellness, social skills and self-esteem, recreation trips, among other services. Also offers a competitive summer arts program where girls work with professional artist/teachers in several areas of the arts including: music and poetry composition, creative writing, dance, acting, or graphic design. Girls write music and lyrics, choreograph, perform, and record a CD of their work. Live performance at end of summer.
