Provides bonuses to eligible veterans to receive up to $100 for each month spent on active duty in Afghanistan. Veterans who served elsewhere in the world during these specific events may still be eligible for a smaller bonus of $50 for each month served. The maximum bonus available is $1,500.
Provides specialized transitional housing services to address the needs of homeless veterans. Offers a stable environment through supportive services including intensive case management, clinical treatment and peer support. Also serves veterans with special needs by providing access to mental health treatment programs and provides a substance abuse treatment program.
Provides certified service dogs to children and Veterans (agency provides the dog - a client can not have their own pet trained to be a service dog). Once the dog is task trained for the child or Veteran, clients must attend a 9-day training class to learn how to work with their dogs.
Offers annually a God and County Dinner, a formal ceremony that honors the previous year's military deceased in Summit and Portage counties.

Provides refresher courses and tutoring in English, math, and computers to eligible individuals who are pursuing education past high school. Additional services include academic and financial aid advising, career assessment and counseling, GI Bill and VA benefits information and referrals, educational testing and assessment, assistance with college admissions, scholarship opportunities and transfer assistance, personal enrichment workshops and motivational speakers, and social opportunities.

Offers eye and vision care including eye exams and treatment of eye diseases and injuries. Provides eyeglasses and eyeglass prescriptions. Will only provide contact lenses when they are a medical necessity.

Keeps copies of discharge papers (DD-214) for military veterans. After the papers have been recorded the client will receive a certified copies and the original will be returned to the client. Additional copies may be obtained in the future. Records are not available to the general public. Office can also issue a United States Veteran Ohio Identification Card (wall-sized) with photo proving they have honorable discharge papers filed with the county.
No matter what problems someone is dealing with, this lifeline wants to help them find a reason to keep living. By calling 988 -they’ll be connected to a skilled, trained counselor at a crisis counselor 24/7. People can also call for help with substance abuse, economic worries, relationship and family problems, sexual orientation, illness, getting over abuse, depression, mental and physical illness, and even loneliness.

Provides a collaborative program which pairs HUD’s Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) rental assistance with VA case management and supportive services for homeless Veterans. These services are designed to help homeless Veterans and their families find and sustain permanent housing and access the health care, mental health treatment, substance use counseling, and other supports necessary to help them in their recovery process and with their ability to maintain housing in the community.
Monthly group that provides coffee, breakfast, and a presentation. Presenter and topic varies by month.
Offers outpatient health care services for veterans. Operates an on-site pharmacy and will fill prescriptions written by VA physicians.

Provides social work services for those utilizing Veterans Affairs medical facilities. Social Workers are available to assist in a variety of settings to include the primary care clinic, during hospitalization, at Emergency Department visits, in mental health and rehabilitation units, and upon enrollment in specialty medical programs. Will assist the veteran, their family members, and Caregivers in resolving housing, finance, mood, relationship, and physical limitation issues in individual, group, or family treatment, whichever suits your needs. Social workers often provide long-term case management services to veterans who are at high risk of being admitted to a hospital, those who have very complex medical problems, and those who need additional help and support.
