The VA can provide health care, education, insurance, help with buying a home, funding to veterans disabled due to their service, burial in a national cemetery, and sometimes all of the above for family members of service members and veterans. Some states provide additional benefits, such as property tax reductions or additional educational benefits. If needed, office can provide transportation. On a case-by-case basis, will provide door-to-door service to any veteran who is too disabled to meet the van in Ashland. Each veteran in need of a companion to travel to the appointment is allowed to do so provided it is medically necessary with written notice from the VA clinic or doctor.

Social Workers are available to assist in a variety of settings to include the primary care clinic, during hospitalization, at Emergency Department visits, in mental health and rehabilitation units, and upon enrollment in specialty medical programs. Will assist the veteran, their family members, and Caregivers in resolving housing, finance, mood, relationship, and physical limitation issues in individual, group, or family treatment, whichever suits your needs. Social workers often provide long-term case management services to veterans who are at high risk of being admitted to a hospital, those who have very complex medical problems, and those who need additional help and support.

Provides assistance for veterans with employment barriers. Helps with job placement assistance as well as employment readiness training such as resume building and military experience conversion.

Also, some rent assistance on a case by case basis. They raise awareness in the community about the challenges for returning Veterans and help others to understand that not all wounds are recognizable.

Provides primary care, general physical examinations, dermatology, and podiatry. Some sites offer geriatric assessments. Geriatric Evaluation is a health care visit with a team of experts that results in a treatment plan aimed at helping Veterans maintain good health, improve quality of life, reduce the need for hospital stays, and reduce the need for long term care services.

Provides services to low income veterans and their families. Services include, case management, assistance obtaining VA benefits, housing counseling, landlord mediation and in some circumstances, financial assistance that may include; rental assistance, security deposits, utility payment assistance, moving costs and emergency housing assistance.

Operates both a general and surgical hospital which provides comprehensive medical care. Provides medical records pertaining to services administered by the VA Medical system, and can direct patients to their primary care physician, if needed.

Provides financial assistance and/or vouchers for short term basic needs to eligible Veterans and dependent survivors who demonstrate a need. Includes but is not limited to clothing, food, toiletries, utility payments, rent payments, mortgage payments, insurance payments, and property tax payments.
