Provides short-term assistance to help families overcome emergent barriers to obtaining and retaining employment. Assistance may be provided for employment-related or training-related needs, such as transportation expenses, work or school uniforms, or school fees or supplies. Assistance may also be provided for needs that could de-stabilize employment, including rent and utility expenses. This program is also known as PRC.

- Prevent families from having to apply for OWF cash assistance when a crisis arises;
- Help families retain employment by enhancing job skills , overcoming barriers and providing short-term assistance or wage supplementation if necessary.
- Provide for contingent needs by helping families with nonrecurring urgent problems that could, if left unattended, result in families needing long-term public assistance.
- Support families receiving OWF with services to enable them to become self-sufficient.

- Financial assistance to qualified individuals who are both pet owners and in active cancer treatment to offset expenses, including pet food; pet walking/sitting and other caregiving services; boarding fees; veterinarian expenses including vaccinations and appointment fees; flea, tick and heartworm prevention; medications; and lab fees
- Educational webcasts focused on caring for pets throughout the cancer journey, to cover topics such as how to care for one’s pet during cancer treatment, guidance on how to reduce one’s risk of infection from pets, as well as finding local support programs
- Wide dissemination of print/digital materials specific to pet care and self-care during cancer treatment, including a database of resources
- Free counseling services for both people with cancer and their caregivers.
Offers temporary, limited financial assistance for emergencies related to rent, utilities, and/or medical needs.
Offers limited temporary financial assistance toward financial barriers that limit the ability of survivors of power-based personal violence to seek and achieve safety. Eligible expenses may include those associated with relocation, lock changes, car repairs, emergency accommodations (hotel stays), etc.
Provides undesignated temporary financial assistance in the form of grants and zero-interest loans to retired military personnel and their families in partnership with Military Aid Societies. Assistance may help with a variety of needs including emergency food, shelter, utilities, emergency travel, burial of a loved one, etc.
